A battery charger clamp is not what a professional would use to bond a ground wire. Cold water pipes are fine as long as they are bonded to the well or city tap. I never said anything to the contrary. I am saying that it would be wise to look over the entire installation if someone was in the frame of mind to use a hokey hardware-store clamp that cannot maintain a secure electrical connection. If you look at the picture, what little part of the pipe isn’t covered in paint is definitely not clean enough for an old battery clamp. The ground wire also is needed for low voltage to suppress damage by galvanic action. The other picture shows the rotor cable and the twin lead running together. Since the ‘professional’ decided to use single eye standoffs all that KMart sold back then he had to bundle them together. I don’t see nearly enough twists in the twin lead. Using coax for decades has almost buried the fine art of running twin lead.
Cable System or VHF/UHF Antenna System
This is an inexpensive device that will split your OTA signal into multiple sub-signals, allowing you to push free TV broadcasting to multiple TVs. So if you have a weak or marginal signal coming from your antenna, splitting it will have a negative effect. Finally the more distance the signal has to travel, the weaker the signal becomes.
One more situation that may benefit from use of a preamplifier is when multiple TV outlets are being fed from the same antenna. Since the splitter used to connect multiple TV sets causes signal loss, a preamplifier at the antenna can help overcome these losses by increasing the signal levels coming from your antenna.
Anthony Cooley Updated April 17, With one cable or antenna source, you can connect multiple TVs to share the signal. You can connect as many TVs as you want; the only limiting factor is the amount of supplies you have. Connecting TVs is not only good for daily use, but it’s also good for parties. Set up your TVs around the house to allow people to walk around and still see what’s going on instead of having to cramp together around the same TV.
Hook the antenna source to the single-threaded end of the cable splitter. The threaded connection of a cable splitter is called an RF connection. Connect a coaxial cable to the cable splitter for each TV you want to connect. Your cable splitter will need to have enough RF connections to connect the number of TVs you are connecting.

Weather Can I share my antenna with 2 radios Great question I receive is how to split the signal from the antenna for two or more radios to use. Signal splitting can be very easy, or quite difficult, depending on your particular needs. Many scanner listeners will usually get by with a cable tv splitter. These splitters will work with scanners, the only problem is that they are designed for 75 ohm coax cable and require F connectors.
Transmitting through a signal splitter will cause damage to the other radios connected to the splitter. An element of filtering is required if you want to use two transmitters with one antenna. Diplexers allow either one radio to use two antennas, or two radios to share one antenna. The diplexers have filters that prevent transmitted RF energy from traveling into the second radio and causing damage.
Simple diplexers that split between two bands can be quite small, but as the split signal gets closer and closer, the diplexers will become larger and larger. The easiest and safest way to share an antenna between two radios is with an A-B antenna switch. Otherwise the A-B switch is your best choice for sharing one antenna between two radios.
